Composer, music director, violist, improviser, arranger and pedagogue, Valente was awarded with the 2019 Carlos Paredes Award for Serpente Infinita, the 2012 Hannah S. and Samuel A. Cohn Memorial Foundation Endowed Fellowship (USA), and a featured solo appearance at Carnegie Hall, invited by legendary, Grammy winner Paquito D’Rivera, among an expanding list of distinguished artistic honours.
